Patient Participation Questionnaire Results 2015
The purpose of the Patient Participation Questionnaire is to ensure that patients are involved in decisions about the range and quality of services provided and, over time, commissioned by the practice.
We aim to achieve this by asking for and acting upon the views of our patients by means of completing a survey/questionnaire. This will include patients being involved in decisions that may lead to changes to the services we provide.
In 2013/14 our drive was to obtain your views about on-line prescription requests, booking appointments on-line and the use of the text messaging facility.
In 2014/15 our focus for the questionnaire/survey was on access to the surgery (telephone access to GPs, electronic communication (text/email) and more GP appointments.
Should anyone wish to join our patient reference group, simply email us at sdccg.littletonsurgery@nhs.net and we will add you to our circulation list.

The results of our 2015 Patient Participation Questionnaire presented a number of thoughts and ideas from patients.
As you can see from our results page the three questions relating to
- increase telephone access to the doctors,
- the surgery making use of patient mobile numbers and email addresses
- additional appointments required
have all been very well received. We were also interested to learn that many of our patients did not know that prescriptions could be requested via our surgery email address.
Having selected your most popular suggestions from the survey, we will be implementing the following changes;-
We will
- Continue 4.00pm-4.20pm telephone GP triage time, as requested
- Obtain more mobile numbers and email addresses in order to increase electronic contact with patients (for speed and efficiency)
- Open a walk-in clinic on days when demand is very high (providing more GP appointments)
- Spread the news that patients can order prescriptions via our email address (sdccg.littletonsurgery.nhs.net).
If you would like to comment on the above or any other topic simply email us at: sdccg.littletonsurgery@nhs.net
Finally, we would like to thank everyone who took the time to fill in our questionnaire and for all the very positive and complimentary comments.

We were interested to learn too that 70% of patients did not know that the surgery was open for doctors’ appointments early on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
